[Hosted by NDSU's Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae]Words by Tracy Nicholson Photography by J. Alan Paul Photography, Burlap home by Dan Francis Photography Yes, we know it's still October...but November is just around the corner and that means the 32nd Annual Homes for the Holidays tour is almost here. A holiday tradition in Fargo-Moorhead for over three decades, Homes for the Holidays is a treasured event featuring local homes beautifully decorated for the holiday season by area merchants and designers. The tour, coordinated by NDSU's Alpha Gamma Delta Alumnae, takes ticket holders through six stunning homes with proceeds benefiting Churches United for the Homeless. To get your early fix of holiday cheer, make sure to reserve your tickets and mark your calendars for November 3-4. To pique your interest even further, we're taking readers on a tour of seven area homes which were featured on last year's home tour. If you missed out on the fun, here are the merchants and decorators who collaborated to create Christmas in November: SCHEELS Home & Hardware, Grace 1972 in collaboration with Gathered Boutique Rentals & Events with Floret+Foliage, Burlap Rustic Chic Boutique, Trever Hill Design in collaboration with McNeal & Friends, Holland’s Landscaping & Garden Center, Northern Home Furniture & Design and Steve Johnson. Save the Date!Don't miss this year's Homes for the Holidays Tour on November 3-4. Tour-goers can expect to view six spectacular homes with designs by Holland’s Landscaping & Garden Center, SCHEELS Home & Hardware, Kirkland's, The Red Silo and Christy Brawner Interiors in collaboration with Eco Chic Home. With a fun twist from the lakes area, the tour will also feature a collaboration between three stores in Perham; Wild Goose, Nest and Goose Gang. Farm-to-Table Brunch at The Red Silo A new addition to this year's tour, The Red Silo is hosting a pre-tour, farm-to-table brunch with a portion of the proceeds also benefiting Churches United for the Homeless. The brunch will take place at their Downtown Fargo store and will offer your choice of reservations at 9:30AM or 10:30AM. Tickets are limited, so reservations are a must. Treasuring Tradition One of the most endearing elements of the Homes for the Holidays tour is the tradition that it has become for the F-M community; it began with Alpha Gamma Delta back in 1986 and the community continues to embrace it to this day. "We have people on the tour that tell us that they have been attending this event for 20 plus years," said Naseer. "Elly Peterson and I have served as co-chairs for Homes for the Holidays for four years now and we are so proud to be able to carry on the legacy of what so many women have done before us. The event is 100 percent volunteer-run and is truly a collaboration between our local alum chapter, our collegiate members, our participating designers and the wonderful homeowners that make it possible."
