[Puzzled Escape Room + Fargo Escape Room]Story by Susan Hozak and Steven Cameron Photography by Micah J. Zimmerman, Amdak Productions Despite the turbulent times 2020 brought, there have been many exciting developments this year for Puzzled Escape Rooms, on top of the exciting times their escape rooms have brought to their guests. It is challenging to find activities to participate in when you are balancing staying home to protect yourself from COVID, and wanting to get out of the house and alleviate cabin fever. Live-Action FunEscape rooms are fun, live-action game experiences where the players are active participants in the stories. They work together to solve puzzles and complete a mission before time runs out. They challenge you mentally and physically for 60 minutes in a safe, controlled environment. Escape rooms are safe experiences simply because you are in a controlled environment.
Moving on Up...to the SouthsidePuzzled Escape Rooms reopened under the ND Smart Restart guidelines in June in a new location at 3301 South University Drive just north of the Cork ‘N Cleaver restaurant. Although they will miss being downtown for the last four years, the new location gives them the luxury of more space, having all their escape rooms on the main level, and having ample parking just steps from their entry. They moved five of their rooms to their new location and reopened Madam Zella’s Psychic Parlor that previously closed to make way for the Christmas-themed room, Twisted Christmas, in 2018. In December, they opened their first new room in 2020, Ghost Story. With Ghost Story, they were able to create a room with some added twists. The Expansion This fall, they also purchased Fargo Escape Room on Main Avenue in West Fargo to take advantage of the unique layout of their four escape room spaces. The three current rooms, Life of Death, Homecoming 2 and their newest one, Mystery Meat, were created by the team at Fargo Escape Room. The fourth space, formerly the home to CATS, is being created with a combined collaboration of the teams from both Puzzled Escape Rooms and Fargo Escape Room. By combining the strengths of both companies, they will be able to bring even better escape room play to the Fargo area. Have a Drink before or after the Fun! Puzzled Escape Rooms has also been working with the Cork ‘N Cleaver to bring new experiences. The first is a secret purple drink that they named Prince Zoric after their purple vampire from the Museum of Terror. It’s not on the menu but you can get it if you ask for it by name. Book a Game! Puzzled Escape Rooms currently has seven escape room themes: The Museum of Terror, Chapel de Puzzled, Madam Zella’s Psychic Parlor, Studio 51, the Time Machine, the Collection, and their newest room, Ghost Story.
