Mustafic’s husband, Tony, owns a recycling business in Fargo. In their early years of dating, the Mustafics’ favorite hangout spot was Shadow Wood Park. “We’d spend so much time at the park talking about how we’d love to have a home in the neighborhood one day,” said Mahira Mustafic. Just a few years later, the couple and their two young sons are fully moved into their own gorgeous newly build, done by Huso Jupic of Huso Jupic Construction LLC, in none other than Shadow Wood Park.
Mahira knew from the start she wanted an all-white, modern kitchen. The trendy white cabinets, from Swenson Cabinets, are finished with gold handles, an unplanned feature, that Mahira could not be more pleased with. Hoping for the kitchen faucet to be the statement of the room, she chose a copper colored finish. “Those bar stools were simply made for this kitchen,” said Mahira Mustafic adoringly when referring to the gold and fury pieces.
Mahira refers to the tray ceiling of the living room as, “the statement piece of the house.” Because the home is a rambler with shorter ceilings, she wanted something that would draw the eye upward. The bright white brick fireplace was built to pop out, furnished by Hebron Brick of Fargo. The lovely built-in shelves were designed by Huso Jupic and furnished by Mahira, herself, using porcelain pieces she spotted at Marshalls. The living room soon became the family’s most loved place within the home.
All the glamorous furniture featured in the home was purchased from Wayfair and made by designer Michael Amini. Mahira also frequented Marshalls and TJ Maxx’s home décor sections for her finishes.
It was very important to Mahira that her two sons, though still young, would have a double vanity for their later teenage years. This feature was a “must” in her design plans. She could not have been more pleased with the way Swenson Cabinets designed the bathroom vanity for maximum storage as well.
