Casselton's East View Development

The city of Casselton, North Dakota, located just twenty miles west of Fargo, continues to grow and blossom immensely. Home to numerous churches, a recently renovated high school, a well acclaimed school system, an active regional airport and flourishing local businesses - it’s no wonder the city has such a hot housing market.

Having lived in Casselton for 18 years and currently raising their three sons there, Steve and Stacy Link take great pride in their bustling community. The pair are extremely active in Casselton, Steve having served on city council and the local fire department in addition to their many other involvements. As the Links became increasingly aware of their growing community’s housing need, Steve proposed a plan to his wife for them to develop the land they owned for residential use. Stacy found herself a bit reluctant to the idea initially, with both of them having full time jobs and a young family to raise, but with some adjustments the pair found a way to bring the plan to life.

The Links originally purchased the land that the East View Development sits on 10 years ago, and spent recent years developing it, adding water and sewer lines and dealing with flood mitigation. Once the infrastructure was developed, the seven single family lots located on the north end of the neighborhood sold rather quickly, with now only two of the seven left. More recently the Links began developing the neighboring lots to create the East View Homeowners Association, highlighted in blue on the map. Their intention for this portion of the land was to provide an option specifically for empty nesters or those looking for lower home maintenance. The East View Homeowners Association offers snow removal, lawn care and four acres of common green space. The Links plan to have all six of the Patio Homes, those belonging to the East View Homeowners Association, built under Link Built Homes. South of the East View Homeowners Association are five more lots for sale.

The Patio Homes belonging to the association are intended to be single family homes with a two bed, two bath or a three bed, three bath option. This particular Patio Home features the three-bed, three bath option, with a second story loft containing the third bedroom, bathroom and a living space. This plan also features a main floor sunroom with oversized windows facing the back yard.
