They talk about the budget, paint colors, lighting, and furniture. Walking into Mike Hills’ 1967 Fargo 2-story the first time last summer led to another important conversation. Maybe the most important conversation. Who is going to bring this home to life? Shortly after moving to Fargo from Minneapolis, Hills completely gutted his new home without a formal game plan beyond demo. Fortunately, his neighbor had years of contractor experience and ties to the residential building industry. “Amon Engberg and I worked together on a renovation about five years prior in a nearby neighborhood. He has a meticulous affection for details so I was absolutely delighted to hear from him,”

Zimmerman, Amdak Productions  Thirty-five years ago, Jeanne and Dwight Anderson settled in the rural hills outside of Fergus Falls, Minn., spending their first eight years of marriage in a 100-year old farmhouse. As fourth-generation dairy farmers, they eventually moved down the road to live on the home farm. This is where they would spend the next 24 years raising their three children, vowing to someday return.
The Andersons are still farming today, but they're now empty nesters with three beautiful grandchildren; finally deciding to keep their promise and return to the spot where their story began. With plans in place to rebuild the house in 2016, the Anderson’s reached out to Jamie Wallace of Calla Lily Designs in Fergus Falls to help pull the details together for their new home. See how Wallace fused her design expertise with their collection of sentimental farm remnants, bringing the Andersons full-circle with modern farmhouse charm. From lighting to cabinetry, wall installations, Pinterest-inspired fixes, and a whole lot of paint - Zick has transformed an outdated abode into a light and airy, modern-day retreat.

She has always wanted to open her own store, and on September 13, Rasco did just that. Envisioning a space where she could empower people to entertain, feel at home, and fall madly in love with their surroundings, she created Dash & White. As the latest arrival to The Shoppes at Blu Water Creek in South Fargo, Dash & White features an eclectic mix of Mid-Century modern furnishings, Smeg appliances, art from Ecce Gallery, handmade throws and pillows, and an array of kitchen and entertaining accessories. [Lindsey Grace Interiors]Story by Lindsey Christie Photography by Northern Stories  A few months ago the Stibbe family reached out to me to help pull together the remaining of their upstairs bedrooms, which included their master bedroom. Trisha Stibbe is a wife and mother of four littles, a talented writer and somehow also finds time to give back to several amazing causes. Her home is full of love and a little bit of chaos, which is highlighted on her blog 3mistersandasister.com. She also has great taste and a knack for design herself, which only made this project so much more fun.

Just east of NDSU's campus, this student-focused property is attractive to all ages. Sleek architectural lines, Mid-century Modern decor, fine art, and endless amenities are just a few of the reasons why we're giving this project an A+. To walk us through the stunning common areas and shared living units, we met up with the site's lead interior designer, Jayne Wilson of McNeal & Friends and Owner Representative, Brent Tabor of PROffutt Limited Partnership. The two are part of a team that helped bring this design to the forefront, including BC Contracting, construction architecture by Meeks and Partners, and interior design architecture by BKV Group of Minneapolis, Minn.
