From the advent of our first issue in October, my publisher, Susan Hozak-Cardinal, and I have been eternally grateful for the people who have supported our vision, pushed us and helped us create this publication. They say it takes a village to raise a child, we say it takes a village to publish this magazine. Completing nearly 70 pages of original content and photos, in less than 30 days, requires the talents of many devoted minds and many late nights to finish what we start. For those who have sacrificed time, energy and sleep to contribute to our pages, we sincerely thank you for an unbelievable start to our journey.
With our first issue in the archives, my publisher Susan Hozak-Cardinal and I decided that our second issue could not disappoint. Starting with another clean slate, we went to work on November's issue and the let stories lead the way.
Welcome to the new Midwest Nest magazine!
When my friend and now publisher, Susan Hozak-Cardinal brought this idea to my attention, I could not have been more excited about the possibilities. After endless cups of coffee, we determined that our pages would be filled to the brim with fresh ideas and a unique twist on Midwest culture, home, art and cuisine. In other words, all of the things we love. This had to be something the readers would love as well, or it wasn't worth doing. So, as some would say, we decided on a motto of "go big or go home".
